Utilising a broadband or leased line connection allows you to make free calls over the internet.
All calls that are 100% over broadband are completely free, i.e. site to site calls or calls to other VoIP users
Calls to all UK landlines via broadband cost around 1p per minute peak rate
Calls to UK mobiles via broadband cost 9-12p depending on the provider.
Calls to landlines in Western Europe, USA and Australia are 1p per minute.
You can connect in a variety of ways-
Standard ADSL Broadband
A standard 500k, 1Mb or 2Mb Broadband line will give you up to 4 voice channels8Mb ADSL Max
An ADSL Max home connection will give between 4 and 6 voice channels.An ADSL Max Premium, 8Mb line will give up to 12 voice channels
16Mb ADSL2+
An ADSL2+ connection should give up to 16 simultaneous voice channels16Mb ADSL2+ Annex M
An ADSL2+ Annex M connection will provide approximately 36 simultaneous voice channels. However this is not available in all exchanges yet.2Mb SDSL
A 2Mb SDSL line will give up to 30 voice channels, however SDSL is not available in all locationsLeased Line
Depending on the speed and capacity of the leased line you can get over 30 simultaneous voice channels
